Inclusive Teaching and Learning: an overview In-Person

Inclusive Teaching and Learning:  an overview

Brief Outline:
Discussions of inclusivity in Higher Education can sometimes centre on providing individual support to specific or ‘groups’ of students perceived to have a deficit. This workshop aims to broaden these discussions to consider ways to engage and increase participation of all students in teaching and learning that is accessible and meaningful. This will be achieved by an examination of key issues that should be addressed before and during teaching and as part of assessment and quality assurance processes.

Either as a pre-activity or post-activity, participants are advised to engage with the online resources on Inclusivity, available here:

At the end of the session, participants will have considered:

-          - ways to embed values and practices of inclusivity to the curriculum
-          - the need for learning outcomes to be achievable by all and in many ways
-          - diverse assessment methods
-          - how to self-assess inclusive practices at different stages of teaching and learning design processes

          UKPSF dimensions - A1, A2, A4, K2, K3, K4, V1, V2
