Intended Outcomes

This workshop will equip you with the tools you need to address any concerns you may have relating to Consumer Protection Law.

 

Target Audience

Aimed at professional service staff with limited knowledge of Consumer Protection Law or those wishing to take a refresher course in this area.

It will aim to cover

  • why consumer law is important

  • how consumer law applies to Higher Education providers and your relationships with undergraduate students

  • how consumer law applies to contract terms and information given to students

  • terms and conditions that are clear and transparent and brought to the attention of students

  • rules and regulations that students are bound by

  • clear and transparent complaints handling processes

  • the potential consequences of not complying

  • responding to legal actions

  • role of the CMA and other organisations

  • whose responsibility is it to ensure we are complying?

  • our responsibilities in relation to consumer protection law
