Microsoft Office Specialist Word – Advanced (MOS 3/3)
Brief Outline
Not only could this session contribute to your training and preparation for the MOS exam for Excel 2010, but it can also be a stand-alone Excel session teaching you some of the advanced skills and functions of the program.
This session focuses on the more advanced skills and functions of Word with most of the focus being on working with references, reviewing and mailings.
Learning Outcomes

Adding captions; applying artistic effects and picture styles; compressing pictures; modifying a shape; adjusting position and size; inserting screenshots

Applying protection by using the Microsoft Office Backstage view commands (applying controls and restrictions to document access, password-protecting a document, marking as final); applying protection by using ribbon commands

Using compatibility mode, protected mode

Adding built-in building blocks (quotes, text boxes, headers, footers, cover pages, watermarks, equations)

OneDrive or Internet fax; creating and publishing a blog post; registering a blog account

Pre-requisites
If attending this session as part of working toward the MOS certification in Word, it is essential that you have attended the Foundation and Intermediate sessions in Word, or spoken to Staff Development about your Word skills. If attending this session as a stand-alone session, a very good understanding of Word and “better than average” skills with the application are needed.
