The Education Summit brings together colleagues from across Middlesex campuses (London, Mauritius, and Dubai) to share innovative teaching and learning approaches that speak to the principles of the 2031 Learning Framework. The Education Summit will draw on the recent Middlesex Teaching Excellence Awards 2024 categories with presentations on the Design, Delivery and Assessment aspects of the 2031 Learning Framework and with particular emphasis on Principle 5 Embedded Practices.
The presenters will share reflections and case studies to support colleagues in the implementation of the 2031 Learning Framework (LF) Principles. This Summit is the first of a series of events showcasing 2031 LF work. All MDX colleagues are invited to attend and participate in the conversation. The event will be of particular interest to those supporting UG students as they prepare to launch their new programmes in September and also to those colleagues yet to engage with the 2031 LF e.g. PGT, Apprenticeships and those involved in supporting partners. The abstracts and the schedule of an impressive range of presentations are available as attachments below (in the light green box at the end of the page).
The Education Summit will be introduced by Professor Christine Broughan (Interim PVC Education and Student Experience) and will conclude with a roundtable discussion, featuring Dr Alison Megeney (Deputy Dean for Science and Technology), Dr Olga Mourouti (Deputy Dean for BAL); Dr Phil Barter (Deputy Dean for HSCE), Professor Tenia Kyriazi (Deputy Director of Teaching and Learning Dubai Campus) and Dr Lee Pheiffer (Deputy Director Academic Mauritius Campus). The round table discussion will be hosted by Professor Kurt Barling, Theme Director for Enterprise and Culture.
After the Summit, colleagues are welcome to join CAPE for a dedicated 'taster session' (2-3pm) on the 2031 Learning Framework CAPE Academic Development support currently on offer to Faculties. This includes: Interactive Teaching Sessions; Key Concept Videos; AI and Assessment.
