Responding to Student Concerns: Practical guidance for when you're worried about a student In-Person

This practical training session is designed to support colleagues in feeling confident when responding to student concerns. Developed in response to colleague feedback, the Professional Services review, and new regulatory requirements (Office for Students Condition E6), the training provides clear, Middlesex-specific guidance on:

  • Recognising when a student may be at risk and the steps to take
  • Understanding the role of the Care and Concern/Responsive Support team
  • Referral pathways, confidentiality, and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Protecting students from harassment and sexual misconduct under E6

The session is highly practical and grounded in the Middlesex context – ensuring you know exactly what to do and who to refer to, so you are not managing complex issues alone.

Strongly encouraged for all colleagues, particularly those who work directly with students.

Please note: This is routinely an in-person training session. If you have access needs which mean you will not be able to attend in person, please contact H.Keating@mdx.ac.uk in the first instance before booking.
