Generative Artificial Intelligend (GenAI) in Higher Education - On-Campus In-Person

Session overview:

This session provides an overview of generative AI and its applications in learning, teaching, and assessment. Particular attention will be given to the importance of good prompt design as an essential requirement for producing useful and reliable outputs from AI systems. Participants will be introduced to strategies for writing effective prompts and will have the opportunity to practise developing their own. The session also introduces Co-Pilot, the enhanced data protection generative AI tool available to staff and students at Middlesex University. In addition, we will explore approaches to assessment design—both in terms of incorporating AI as a supportive tool for students and in designing assessments that limit or prevent its use where appropriate. The session is interactive and focused on practical application.
