Intellectual Property (IP) for Researchers - RKEO Training Online Online

This course aims to provide a broad overview of the nature of intellectual property insofar as it affects research. Surveys all forms of IP (asserted and attested), how to claim and protect IP, how to exploit. Runs with, and uses, case study and exercise materials.  

Learning objectives 

Participants will be able to: 

  1. Understand the rationale for, and character of, intellectual property (IP) 

  2. Distinguish and understand the differences between attested and asserted IP rights 

  3. Identify practices in their research work that will assist with the protection of IP rights 

  4. Think about strategies for the protection and exploitation of IP from research
